Research interest: My broad research area includes pavement material characterization, pavement analysis, pavement design, pavement evaluation and maintenance. I am interested in both theoretical as well as experimental studies - simple formulation from first principle and fabrication of simple workable equipment fascinate me.
I (along with my team members) have been working (or have worked) on the problems related to characterization of asphalt mix and aggregates, shape of aggregates, asphalt micromechanics, microstructure and image analysis of asphaltic material, moisture sensitivity and permeability issues in asphalt mix, asphalt recycling, structural analysis of pavement, optimal pavement thicknesses design, thermal stress in pavements, reliability issues in pavement engineering, pavement surface characterization, visual evaluation of pavement, back-calculation of elastic moduli from deflection data, pavement maintenance resource allocation and so on. |
