Rajesh M. Hegde

Rajesh M. Hegde is currently a Professor (HAG) and Umang Gupta Chair (2019-2025) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. He has served as the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering (2020-2023), Head of the Center for Continuing Education (2019-2021), Head Center for Railway Research IIT Kanpur (2020-2023), and Director IIT Kanpur Research Technology Park Foundation (2019-2020). He also served as Dean, Research and Development (2023-2024) at IIT Dharwad while on leave from IIT Kanpur. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Kotak School of Sustainability at IIT Kanpur and a Visiting Professor at Chanakya University, Bangalore. His research interests include Machine Learning, AI, future wireless networks, pervasive communication, WSN, IoT, speech recognition, audio processing for ASR and VR, and multimodal information fusion.
