Welcome to my page, I am
PhD Student & Researcher
IIT Kanpur
Drawn by a curiosity for how ideas take shape, I’m delving into additive manufacturing ,where creativity meets engineering. As a PhD student, I’m learning to bridge simulations and experiments to uncover the science behind each layer.
Academic journey and research experience in mechanical engineering
I am Abhishek Rajput, a PhD student in the Additive Manufacturing and Solidification Lab, IIT Kanpur. I grew up in the small town of Dibiyapur, located in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh. I have completed my UG in Mechanical Engineering from IIEST Shibpur (erstwhile BE College), located on the west bank of the Ganga. Coincidentally, my doctoral research at IIT Kanpur has once again placed me on the west bank of the Ganga, enabling me to continue my academic journey.
During my bachelor’s, I developed a strong interest in additive manufacturing, the possibility of creating almost anything that can be imagined fascinated me. This interest shaped my internship work, and the experience convinced me to pursue advanced research in the field. I chose to follow this path over job offers, with the aim of contributing to the development of additive manufacturing technologies and making them more accessible. My long-term goal is to turn ideas into tangible realities, fulfilling a vision I have had since childhood.
