·       The book Semiconductor Devices and Circuits published by the Oxford University Press has been accepted well by the audience (currently it is at #7 in the Bestseller List in Amazon under the Semiconductor category, and is under the seventh reprint).

·       Winner of the Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award by the ‘Engineering Graduate Student Council’ at LSU, Baton Rouge, 1989.

 

·       The paper presented at the 1st Annual Materials Science and Engineering Technical Paper Session held in Birmingham, Al, on Sep. 29-30, 1987, was selected the best in the category of ‘Optical and Magnetic Properties of Materials’ and was awarded a first prize.

 

·       The student paper entitled Infrared Piezobirefringence – An Efficient Technique for the Characterization of Defects in Semiconductors won the outstanding research paper award in the Ph.D. category in the technical paper contest organized by the ‘Engineering Graduate Student Council’ at LSU, Baton Rouge, held in Jan 1988.

 

·       Recipient of the Kaiser Fellowship for outstanding research for the year 1986-87 from the College of Engineering at LSU, Baton Rouge.

 

·       Recipient of the National Scholarship for both the Secondary and the Higher Secondary Examinations under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, and the West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education, respectively. Was ranked 81st in the order of merit in the Secondary Examination, and 52nd in the Higher Secondary Examination.

 

·       Winner of Dr. B.C. Roy Gold Medal (similar in status to the President’s Gold Medal in the IIT system) for securing the highest aggregate of marks among all the courses of the Bachelor of Engineering Examination, 1982, at Jadavpur University, Calcutta (batch topper).

 

·       Winner of the University Medal for standing first in the order of merit in Electrical Engineering at the Bachelor of Engineering Examination, 1982, at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

 

·       Winner of Benoy Sarkar Memorial Gold Medal for securing the highest total marks combining all the different courses of the Bachelor of Engineering Examination, 1982, at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

 

·       Winner of Ashok Memorial Silver Medal for standing first in the order of merit in Electrical Engineering at the Bachelor of Engineering Examination, 1982, at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

 

·       Winner of Subodh Kumar Basu Medal for securing the highest marks in Electrical Engineering Laboratory sessional work during the final and pre-final year classes plus the practical examination of the Bachelor of Engineering Examination, 1982, at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.

 

·       Winner of the Best All Rounder Award in school.
