I am Ankit Soni and I am doing by dual degree program in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur. Currently I am in the 8th semester of my studies .I am expected to finish my M Tech thesis by May 2007.

I am interested in the research fields of Machine Learning and Data Mining and Artificial Intelligence in general . I also find Statistical Natural Language Processing and Bioinformatics quite interesting.You can find my works by exploring the various links.

To be more personal, I was born at Kota Rajasthan, and here is where I had all my schooling. I studied in St. Paul 's School , Kota .I wanted to be a doctor when I was kid but somehow I landed up in IIT Kanpur, may be I got interested in Maths after my tenth standard or may be the IIT JEE coaching system of Kota was responsible for it. Anyway I am very thankful to that unknown force that got me here .I am now in my eight semester and have started my thesis work, right now it is mostly reading and formulating the problem and the area itself but it is mainly in the area of Machine Learning particularly kernel methods.

My parents live at Kota, in Rajasthan. My father Dr. Shrinath Soni is a doctor in state government service.My mother is a Naturopathic doctor and does voluntary service at a Naturopathic hospital but these days she is more interested in Art Of Living Foundation and spends most of her time for it. My elder sister (a Homeopathic doctor ) is married and is presently living in Texas USA.
