Education |
Ph.D (Magna Cum Laude, Great Distinction), Metallurgy and Materials Engineering; Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Belgium; March 2001, Specialisation: Ceramics.
Thesis: "Zirconia-Titanium Boride Composites for Tribological Applications"
- The research leads to the formulation of a novel approach to tailor the tetragonal zirconia transformability in order to obtain optimised transformation toughening contribution in the newly developed tetragonal zirconia monoliths (TZP) and composites. The tribology research clearly demonstrated that a trade-off between the transformation toughness and the wear resistance needs to be achieved in order to realise successful applications of TZPs as wear components.
Masters of Engineering (First Class, TGPA 6.7/8.0), Metallurgy; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, January 1997
Thesis: "Microstructure evolution during Laser Surface Alloying of Aluminium on Iron substrate". Supervisor: Prof. Kamanio Chattopadhya
Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honors, 77.6%), Metallurgy; Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, India, July, 1995
