A. Organized a National Seminar at IIT Bombay as the ORGANISING SECRETARY , during 24-26 January 1996, Theme:
 
PROBLEMS AND CHALLENGES OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER, IN-HOUSE R&D AND INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGY FOR INDIAN INDUSTRY IN THE 1990s
It was a three days national seminar with 90 papers presented in two Ongoing parallel sessions wherein scholars from Academics (Social Sciences, ManagementandEngineeringfaculties),Industry(both Public & Private sectors), Financial Institutions, Govt. Research Laboratories and Ministry of Science & Technology participated. (Funded by DST &DSIR Govt. of India CSIR, The Reserve Bank of India Bombay, SirDorabji Tata Trust Bombay, The Bombay Chamber of Commerce, L&T, NOCIL, HAL, NALCO, etc)
 
Inaugural address was delivered by Mr. Ashok Parthasarathi,
the then Adln. Secretary, Govt. of India, Head, DSIR
 
Valedictory address was delivered by Dr. Y.S. Rajan,
the then Head TIFAC, DST and Advisor to Govt. of India
 
B. Organized a National Seminar at IIT Kanpur as the CONVENOR during 6-7th February 2001, entitled :
PROSPECTS OF INDUSTRIAL R & D IN INDIA UNDER GLOBALIZATION
 
It was a two days National Seminar having nearly 40 papers presented wherein scholars/scientists from academics ( Social sciences, Management, and Engineering faculties) Executives from Industries(Public and Private Sectors), Scientists and S&T administrators from Research laboratories and Govt. Ministries/Departments. (CSIR, DST and DSIR, Council of Science & Technology UP) had participated.(Funded by DSIR Govt. of India, CSIR, CouncilofScience and Technology UP,ICSSR,Sir Dorabji Tata Trust Bombay, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) Shimla, the TISCO Ltd, the GAIL, the SONY India Ltd, the LG Electronics Ltd, the HAL, the TELCO Ltd, the ITI Ltd, etc)

C.Organized the Curriculum Development Workshop on M.Phil in Development Studies during 24-25th September 2001onbehalf of the Department. of HSS as the CONVENOR (with financial grant from the CDTE of the Institute).
 
This interdisciplinary workshop was attendedby seniorscholars ofrepute and seniorexecutives ofleadingInternational/ nationalNGOs.Apartfrom developing curriculum forthe M. PhilProgramme this workshopalso discussed the possible lines of collaborationwith the catalysts of development like INGOs/NGOs.

D.Organised the XXVIII ALL INDIA SOCIOLOGICAL CONFERENCE (of the Indian Sociological Society) as the Organising Secretary at the IIT Kanpur during December 18-20, 2002.
Main theme: Globalization and the Indian Society
 
Inaugural address by the Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh His Excellency Sri Vishnu Kant Shastri.
 
This conference has been attended by nearly 600 scholars from various parts of the country and from abroad. The themes of the 3 symposia of the conference were:
Symposium 1: Political Economy Under the Global Regime
Symposium 2: Globalisation Cultural Pluralism & Identities: Indian Context
Symposium 3: Knowledge Based Societies and Globalisation
 
These apart the conference had 22 Parallel sessions of research committees dealing with various specialized branches of Sociology (including one exclusively manned by the NRI/ Oversea Scholars).
 
Valedictory address of the Conference was delivered by the noted Sociologist:Professor Yogendra Sigh, Professor Emeritus, CSSS, JNU, New Delhi.
 
 
 
E.          Organized a Technical Session in the XVI World Congress of Sociology of the International Sociological Association in its RC 23 Session 4 entitled “Science and Technology Under Globalization” celebrated at Durban, South Africa (Hosted by the University of Kuwa Zulu Natal) during 23 -29 July 2006.

In collaboration with theCentre for Sociological and Science-studies Research (IHST) Russian Academy of Sciences, Saint Petersburg, Russia, at IIT Kanpur during February, 4-6, 2009
 
(Funded by the Dept. Of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt of India and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), and NISTADS New Delhi)

The rest of the contributors were from within India)
