I was born in a small town called 'Bally', in the Howrah District of West Bengal, India. My parents are Shri Bholanath Bhattacharya and Smt. Bina Bhattacharya. My father was the head-teacher of Bally, Durgapur High School and my mom has devoted most of her life for the joint family of my father and my two other uncles.

My primary and secondary schooling were from Nischinda Purbapara Prathamik Vidyalaya and Bally Nischinda Chittaranjan Vidyamandir respectively. Later, I moved to Uttarpara Government High School for higher secondary education.

In the mid-summer of 1997, Chitralekha and I got married. More than a decade has passed and we are orbiting steadiliy as binary bodies. She is currently working in the National Program for Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). This web-page is designed and deveoped by her. We share many common fields of interests like Music, Interface Design, Cooking, Bird-watching and watching Hollywood Classics.

Our son Chandramouli alias (Torsa) was born in January, 2003. He is now a big boy who wants to become a space-scientist and visit Moon and Mars. We are also the proud parent of our beautiful daughter Bipasana alias (Tista) who was born in June, 2007. Together they have shown us how to live brimming with life.

A small but significant hue of my complex life-pattern is that I'm a poet. I write poems in Bengali (my mother tongue) and in English. I love to read and recite poems composed by others as well.

My role model is Leonardo-de-Vinchi.
