Kanpur

Coordinator:
Dr. Bhaskar Dasgupta

* Mathematical Modelling * Computer Simulation * Design and Process Optimization

Objectives of the Course:

Cutting-edge frontiers in technology and global competition has made it imperative for industry to continuously strengthen its research activities, a significant component of which involves problem formulation, analysis and computation. This component of research is vital also in the work of the personnel belonging to the R&D establishments.

The purpose of this course is to develop a firm background in analytical and computational research at a professional level, that would act as a launching pad for personnel in such organizations who are going to embark on such activities in their design and research, and would help immediately those who are engaged in it already. The course will be useful for college/university teachers as well for research foundation and curriculum development.

Course Contents:

Fundamental Issues and Tools in Computational Science and Engineering; In-depth coverage of Numerical Linear Algebra, Optimization Methods, Solutions of Differential Equations for Numerical Simulation, Geometric Modelling; Mathematical Formulation of Scientific Problems and Solutions: Case Studies; Hands-on Training on Basic as well as Professional Problems.

Course Fees:

General category: Rs. 10000/-

College teacher / students: Rs. 5000/-
