Legend of abbreviations
- "Title" (in class/lecture): Display and delivery of the material
on the sheet with "Title".
- Practice "Title" (in tutorial): The tutor calls students one by
one to the board, asks him/her to write a few (4/5) words of
family "Title" and then to make a sentence with any one of them.
Subsequently, the class or specific students by name are asked
to examine the sentence and suggest corrections if wrong.
- Specific (mentioned) exercise on "Title" (in tutorial): From a
short list of words from the family "Title", the tutor asks the
students to make sentences on the board and then the subsequent
examination/correction by the class follows as above.
- Learn "Title" (in home-work): Learn the pronunciation and
spelling of words in the family under the "Title".
- Eng: English.
- CLL: Common Local (Medium) Language --- In U.P. it is Hindi.
- Eng to CLL 1-2-3: Exercise of interpreting an English sentence
by converting it into CLL through translation of its parts and
ordering in the appropriate sequence.
- CLL to Eng 1-2-3: Exercise of translating a CLL sentence into
English through translation of its parts and ordering in the
appropriate sequence.
- PPF: Present, Past and Future.
- Imp; imperative.
- P/N/I: Positive, negative and/or interrogative.
- P/N/I/I-Wh: Positive, negative, interrogative and/or
interrogative with an explicit query (with Wh-word).
- PPF triplet: A set of three associated sentences in simple
present, past and future. Example:
He sells cars. He sold cars. He will sell cars.
- P/N/I triplet: A set of three associated sentences of positive,
negative and interrogative types. Example:
He sells cars. He does not sell cars. Does he sell cars?
- P/N/I/I-Wh quadruplet: A set of four sentences: positive, negative,
interrogative and explicit query with Wh-word. Example:
He sleeps. He does not sleep. Does he sleep? Where does he sleep?
- 3x3 PPF P/N/I set: A 9-sentence set formed by a P/N/I assembly of
a PPF triplet.
- 3x4 PPF P/N/I/I-Wh full set: A 12-sentence set formed by a P/N/I/I-Wh
assembly of a PPF triplet.
- 3x4 PPF P/N/I/I-Wh mixed set: A 12-sentence set as above, but with
no theme-link.
