Travel information Air transport Participants arriving at Munich airport can take a shuttle bus from the central zone of the airport to the railway station at Freising. The shuttle bus leaves about every 30 minutes. It costs 5,- DM. >From Freising there are trains to Passau roughly every two hours (but no later than 9.50 p.m.). The train ride to Passau takes about 90 minutes and costs 38,- DM at present. Participants arriving at Frankfurt airport can take a direct train to Passau from the airport which takes about 4 hours. Reduced train fares may apply if you present your airline ticket. Train connections There are many train connections to Passau from the West, North and South of Germany, from Belgium (Oostend) and the Netherlands (Amsterdam). There are also many direct trains to Passau from Budapest and Vienna. By car Passau is located at the Autobahn A 3 (Frankfurt-N"urnberg-Passau) which continues into Austria (Linz-Vienna). Participants coming from the Munich area should follow the A 92 to Deggendorf and from there continue on the A 3. Leave the Autobahn at exit "Passau-Nord". Participants coming from Austria should leave the Autobahn at the exit "Passau-S"ud". The university is within walking distance to the city and to most of the hotels and other places of interest. This is why most participants will neither need their cars nor public transportation during the conference. During the day we have some reserved parking space in the garage of the university. Accommodation If you have not yet made your hotel reservation based on the order card of the previous sendout you should contact the following address at your earliest convenience: Fremdenverkehrsverein Passau e.V.
