Molecular materials are one of the possible building blocks for future electronic devices. The interest on these materials are fueled due to its small size, highly tunable magnetic and electronic properties and plenty of choice. In addition they offer the unique self-assembling property through which one may design any complex structure, even a most complicated design as in animate systems can be duplicated. Molecules that imitate electronic functionalities like switches, diodes, rectifiers, wires are called functional molecules. Our group investigate molecular functional materials (MFM) on surface using Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) working at ambient conditions. |
