One can construct other scales for small scale turbulence. Kolmogorov proposed that the scale of motion responsible for the value of should be determined only by that value of dissipation and the kinematic viscosity. We can combine and to obtain the length, time and velocity scales as

We have already come to know that these are Kolmogorov microscales of length, time and velocity respectively. From (17.3), (17.4 ) and (17.5) it can be said that

Also from the definition of Equation (17.5 ) it can be seen that the order of the Reynolds number formed by and is

Which suggests that the motion of the Kolmogorov scale structures is predominantly viscous.
