The Conference will be hosted by the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of   Technology Kanpur, INDIA, during January 4-6, 2005. The conference will survey   recent progress and promote further research in Statistics and its applications in   different areas of science and technology. This conference will cover different areas of   statistics such as Bayesian Inference, Bio-Statistics, Inference, Survey sampling,   Experimental Design, Generalized Linear models, Reliability Theory, Applied   Probability, Financial Statistics, Linear-Nonlinear Regression Analysis, Statistical   Signal Processing, Time Series etc.

It is needless to emphasize the role of Statistics in solving various real life problems. In view of the rapid progress taking place in all branch of science  and particularly  in  interdisciplinary areas such as statistics, it is hard for researchers to keep abreast with  all the developments without periodic interaction and discussions with experts and   researchers. With the view to promote such an interaction we are planning this   conference at I.I.T Kanpur.

We are planning three plenary lectures and several invited and special sessions.   The wide scope of the conference will provide an excellent opportunity for sharing and   promoting ideas among the experts. It may be mentioned that several eminenet scholars  from India and abroad have already given their consents for the invited lectures. Thus   the Conference will provide an opportunity to the young researchers to interact and   discuss with distinguished researchers from across the world on various aspects of   Statistics.
