PE 101
I  semester 2011-'12


The PE - 101 and PE - 102 courses are senate approved compulsory courses for the first year students of four- year B.Tech and B.S.  students. The Physical Education Section has been given the responsibility to conduct these courses.

The institute has excellent Games & Sports facilities to run these courses. Besides the responsibility of running the PE courses, Physical Education Section is responsible to supervise and provide Games & Sports facilities to all registered students of the institute and also to organize various games and sports tournaments and meets. The outstanding players (students) will have an opportunity to represent the institute team in various sports meets/festivals, such as, Inter IIT Sports Meet and District level tournaments. Meritorious players are awarded prizes and medals at the Annual function of the Student Gymkhana. The achievements of the meritorious players are also considered for some institute awards. Sports scholarships are also given to the best sports persons.



Evaluation

The courses are graded as S (satisfactory)/ X (Unsatisfactory). The grade will be given after the end semester examination. A minimum of 75% attendance and satisfactory performance in each of the two components (Physical exercises and Personality Development Activities)  will be necessary for passing the courses.
