ERS-2 Scatterometer off-line Windfield data procured from IFREMER - CERSAT program was used to study the time series variation of backscattering coefficients for the Indian Subcontinent.

Several utilities have been developed through in-house programming in C for the aforesaid data processing. Utilities included functionality to read the data from CD, calculate weekly, monthly and yearly averages, create MapInfo exchange files for import into MapInfo GIS for display and analysis in vector format.
