WORKSHOP/SYMPOSIUM ORGANISED BY Prof. R. P. Singh

* COSPAR Symposium on Natural and Manmade Hazards Management Using Space Technology, going to be held during CASPAR General Assembly at Texas, USA from October 10-19, 2002.

* Organized ISRS National Symposium  on Spatial Technologies for Natural Hazards Managment  held at IIT Kanpur from November 21-22, 2000.

* COSPAR Symposium on Combined Interpretation of Multi-sensor Data and Utility of Medium and Coarse Resolution Satellite data for Land Surface characterisation, held during CASPAR General Assembly at Warsaw, Poland from July 16-23, 2000.

* A    two-week    Course-cum-Workshop    was    organized    on Magnetotelluric Methods of Exploration during January 18 - 29, 1988
 sponsored by  ONGC,  DST,  INSA,  CSIR, QIP,  UPCST.  47  scientists from all  parts  of  the  country   participated. Workshop was also  attended
 by  the scientists  from  Japan,  Sweden and Hungary.

* Organized a Symposium  on  Resource  mapping  and  Geophysical surveys using Space Technology during COSPAR meeting  held  in The Hague,
 Holland during June - July  1990.

* Organized a Symposium  on  Resource  mapping  and  Geophysical surveys using Space Technology  during  World  Space  Congress held in
 Washington, D.C., USA during  August - September, 1992.

* Organised a Symposium on Monitoring and Assessment of Natural Hazards Using Space Technology, held in Hamburg, Germany during July 1994.

* Organized an Organisational meeting of Indian section of International Lithosphere Task Group Program II-4 and Seminar on "Three-Dimensional
 Mapping of Lithosphere" during  March 30 - April 1, 1995 at IIT K.

* Organised SEG International Affairs Committee during  AEG Annual Symposium, Hyderabad, Nov. 1996.

POST-EARTHQUAKE SURVEY

* Conducted  extensive  post-earthquake  survey  of Gujarat Earthquake of January 26, 2001 alongwith Japanese scientists.

* Conducted  extensive  post-earthquake  survey  of Uttarkashi Earthquake of October 20, 1991. The report of the  survey  has been published by EERI, USA.
