About Me

I am a researcher and a sports enthusiast (particularly about weightlifting). Currently, I am enrolled as a PhD student at Geoinformatics Laboratory, IIT Kanpur (and University of Melbourne under Melbourne-India Post Graduate Program). My research interests are integrated mapping systems, LiDAR, Cooperative localization and Kalman filter. Currently I am working on "Cooperative localization of multiple UAVs" along with a few other projects including "Scanning of moving objects using LiDAR". Laser scanning moving objects like ships, aerostats etc. had been a challenging problem, a solution to which has been developed by us at Geoinformatics laboratory, IIT Kanpur. I along with my colleagues at Geoinformatics laboratory had developed an indigenous land based mobile mapping system as a part of my master's thesis.
Apart from doing research, I spend quite a bit of time practicing weightlifting. I am a member of the institute's (IIT Kanpur) weightlifting team. I also enjoy swimming and occasionally like to play cricket, badminton and volleyball. In my free time and mostly while travelling, i like to read novels (fiction and non-fiction) and listen to music.

  1. Completed DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) funded project titled " Laser scanning of moving objects".
  2. Managed and supervised the following projects as Project Engineer at P. N. Shidhore Civil Engineers (I) Pvt. Ltd.
    1. Verification survey for 425 km long dedicated freight corridor from Mumbai to Vadodara.
    2. Georeferencing of combined base map of the Inventorisation of Environmental features of Greater Mumbai.
    3. GPS survey for proposed afforestation for International Airport at Panvel.
    4. Developing a complete database (along with a georeferenced satellite imagery) of all the villages in MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region) on a GIS platform.
    5. Carrying out survey for the development of Public Water Transportation System along the west coast of Mumbai.
    6. Carrying out City Survey for Khapa and Mohpa Muncipal limits in Nagpur for updation of village maps.
