About Me

I am a Ph.D. student in the Aerospace Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. My area of speacialization is Aerospace Propulsion. I completed my Post Graduation in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kanpur in June, 2017 and Graduation in Aeronautical Engineering from Feroze Gandhi Institute of Engg. & Tech., Rae Bareli in May , 2014. This website documents my interests, passion and the work that I have done so far.

My research interests include RANS and LES simulations of Supersonic flows as well as heat transfer cases related to the Gas Turbine Blade cooling. I am currently working on Hybrid RANS-LES modeling for film cooling prediction.

Numerical Investigation of Separation of flow and Side loading in Rocket Nozzles.

Description: A detailed analysis on the evolution of supersonic flow in the rocket nozzle was done. Main focus of the research was on the study of fluctuations of pressure waves during start-up and shut-down phase of rocket which are the main cause of Side Loads in the rocket. For modeling turbulence, both Large Eddy Simulation and RANS based turbulent models are investigated.

Nozzle Thrust Estimation using Strain Gauges

Course: Introduction to Virtual Instrumentation

Mentor: Prof. Kamal Poddar

Description : An experimental setup was created in the Fire Lab for nozzle thrust estimation using strain gauges.
A LabVIEW program was written to acquire the strain gauge data from the NI sensors and then results were compared with the available experimental data.

Lid Driven Cavity Problem

Course: Finite Volume Methods for Heat and Mass Flow

Mentor: Assoc. Prof. Ashoke De

Description : Serial code is written in C++ to solve the equation numerically and the results are compared with the exact solution. SIMPLE algorithm is used for pressure-velocity coupling and second order discretization scheme is used for all terms.
