Experiments play a vital role in unfolding the underlying mechanics of any physical phenomena

Background

Microfluidics, the study of fluid motion on microscopic scales where inertial effects are negligible and interfacial effects such as capillarity, surface tension, electrostatic charge, etc. dominate, has emerged as an area of interest because of advantages of process intensification, decreased sample volumes, and increased functionality. And microfluidics plays an important role as a technology enabler in the realization of microdevices which have applications in areas including healthcare, energy, and chemical synthesis. The workshop will consist of invited presentations about the recent advances in the field by researchers from academia, government laboratories and industry. This will culminate in a discussion, Microfluidics and Microdevices Research in India. All interested are welcome to attend. This workshop is supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India.
