My research interests are broad but basic, generally within dynamics, vibrations, applied mechanics, asymptotic and perturbation methods. Some topics on which I have worked are here. My CV is here.
I am pleased if I can pose and answer apparently simple questions that people have somehow missed; or find simpler ways of doing things than people currently adopt; or offer interesting new insights that clarify our understanding of something.
I tend to let my students work on topics they find interesting, and try to widen my own expertise to include their work.
My work so far has not been geared towards new products or technologies (an honorable activity, just something I have not done).
