About Us
The Drivesystem Research Lab was established in the year 2024 with a focus on advanced aerospace transmission systems research and development. Our core expertise lies in drive systems for high payload capacity vertical take off and lift vehicles, including UAVs and Rotorcraft. We're also engaged in fundamental research in contact mechanics, lubrication, and rotordynamics. With a team of researchers and close collaborations with industry and government bodies, we aim to advance the science and engineering of high-performance, reliable, and efficient propulsion and acutation systems for aerospace and defense applications.
Selected Ongoing Projects
- Development and testing of interconnected gearboxes for reliable high payload multicopter UAVs
- Rotary actuators for aerospace applications
- Drive system development for high altitude, heavy payload VTOL capable UAVs
- Design analysis and rotor dynamic effects of curvic coupling joints in high speed small gas turbine rotor system
