Research Focus

Our research group employs a multidisciplinary approach at the interface of chemical engineering, physics, and biology to unravel the complexities of biological systems. By integrating mathematical modeling, statistical mechanics, and computational simulations, we aim to decipher the fundamental design principles that govern cellular behavior, decision-making processes, and robustness in the face of biological noise. We focus on understanding how molecular interactions translate into phenotypic outcomes across various biological scales, from single-cell dynamics to tissue-level organization.

Key Areas of Interest

Stem Cell Systems & Tissue Dynamics

Quantitative modeling of cell fate decisions, proliferation, and differentiation in epidermal, intestinal, and neural stem cell systems. Application of statistical mechanics to understand tissue homeostasis and cancer stem cell dynamics.

Computational Systems Biology

Stochastic and deterministic modeling of regulatory networks and signal transduction pathways (such as EGFR, GPCR, TNF-α, TGF-β, and NF-κB). Analysis of metabolic fluxes (Glycolysis) and biological noise in cellular pathways.

Structural Biology & Therapeutics

Structure-based drug design using Molecular Docking and Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations to investigate protein-ligand interactions and design inhibitors for therapeutic targets such as CtBP and EGFR kinase domains.
