Domain Specific Training Programme (DSTP) on

"Handling Large Scale Data & Data Analysis using R"

Online Course Platform: Course can be accessed through online platform MooKit available at https://outreach.iitk.ac.in. MooKit is a platform for teaching and is developed by  IIT Kanpur.

How to access the course platform:

•     First time: Login with your email id that is given in the list of selected candidates issued by NSSTA and you will get an email to set the password.
•      The login ids are the email ids which is sent by NSSTA. They are given below in masked format for your help. If there are two email ids, then the first one is used.
•      After the first time: Use your email id for login.

► Lecture 1 will be available when you login into your account first time. Please have a look.

► Please download the data files in a zipped directory and copy all the data files on C:\ in a folder "RCourse". Please download the data file here.

 

Discussion Hour: We will have the first discussion hour on 8 July 2022 from 8-9 PM.

Meeting Schedule: We will meet once a week for one hour over "Zoom" video conferencing software to discuss doubts. The zoom link will be forwarded through email. Therefore it is better you install Zoom from https://zoom.us/download.

 

Video Lectures, Slides and Assignments:

1. All the participants need to access the video lectures only from the MooKit platform because this will record their attendance and participation details to be submitted to the Ministry.

2. The videos of duration 10 hours will be released every week on every Sunday. The videos are not downloadable but can be accessed 24X7.

3. As per the guidelines of NSSTA, a minimum of 90% of each of the video needs to be watched to be categorised as "present".

3. Relevant assignments and slides are provided inside the MooKit platform.

4. One assignment per week consisting of multiple type question with one correct answer will be uploaded inside the MooKit in pdf formats. They have to be answered inside the MooKit portal under the section "Quizzes".

5. Submission of assignments is compulsory, as required by the Ministry.

6. All questions have only one correct answer which is to be checked mark inside the portal. The assignments have to be answered in the given time framework and the marks are recorded automatically without any human intervention. It is not possible to entertain any request for late submission.

6. All the assignments will be released on every Monday and have to be submitted within the same week by Saturday (or the dates mentioned in the assignment portal).

7. Announcement of answers of the assignment questions will be on every Sunday

 

Discussion and Queries:

1. All the queries should be raised only under the "Forum" section inside the MooKit. Such activities will also be recorded.

2. Any participant can also answer anyone's question. This is encouraged to have a better learning. As soon as  a question is raised on the forum, an email will be generated automatically and sent to all the participants.
