Travel from Railway Station to IIT-Kanpur

 

Reaching I. I. T. Kanpur from Railway station: From railway station, you can take a taxi (about Rs. 200/-) or a three wheeler (two seater) (Rs. 120/-) directly to Visitor Hostels Kanpur. But your accommodation has been booked in the Visitor Hostel Extension or Hall X.

Reaching I. I. T. Kanpur from Railway station: From railway station, you can take institute bus (about Rs. 15/-). The bus is available just outside the platform 1. But the schedule is 6:15 AM and 8:15 AM

Reaching I. I. T. Kanpur from Railway station: From railway station, you can take rickshaw (about Rs. 15/-) to the Kanpur bus station (known as Jhakor Katti). From here, you take a bus ( buss number 2 or other busses, asked anybody in the bus station) to IIT-Kanpur. From here again you take a rickshaw to the Visitors Hostel)

 Please note as most of the international flights from European / transatlantic flights arrive late night in New Delhi and Mumbai. Hence we would suggest to stay a night or take a train to Kanpur accordingly to their flight arrivals in India. We are giving below the accessibility options for Kanpur:

RECOMMENDATION:

We would suggest you to arrive New Delhi on 09th , 10th or 11th December’2007 and depending on your international flight arrival time in New Delhi we would suggest taking a night halt in Delhi and take a morning train on 11th December’2007 to Kanpur or take a flight to Lucknow by S2 125 at 1310 hrs and drive to Kanpur.

In Varanasi
Move out for a morning guided spiritual tour along the banks of the river Ganges and also take a boat ride over this sacred river. After breakfast at hotel, Drive to Jaipur, (260 kms. / approx 05 hrs.).Upon arrival, transfer to the Hotel. Afternoon meet your tour guide in the hotel followed by a half day tour to city.

 

Afternoon: Proceed for city tour of Jaipur City. A Visit to City Palace Museum an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthan and Mughal art. The Museum is replanted with its collection of robes of Royal Princes, an accurate observatory built in 1726 AD, Hawa Mahal (PALACE OF WIND) a five storied wonder with a spectacular pyramid façade and overhanging windows with latticed screen, domes and spires. Jaipur – Agra (Via Fatehpur Sikri)

After breakfast at hotel, meet your tour guide in the hotel followed by a morning half day tour to Amber Fort.

 Morning Excursion to Amber Fort – 11 Kms from Jaipur a marvelous example of the Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Maota Lake. Enjoy Elephant ride while climbing up to the Amber fort.               

 Afternoon drive to Agra 225 kms / approx 05 hrs. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri.

 Fatehpuri Sikri
The deserted city of sandstone built by the emperor AKBAR. Built by Akbar, it is the most perfectly preserved and complete Mughal palace city of all.  Although only ruined walls remain of the town, the magnificent palace complex still stands the elaborately carved red sandstone almost as it was 400 years ago.

Morning: Sightseeing tour of Agra, visiting TAJ MAHAL built by Shah Jehan for his queen Mumtaj Mahal], perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the World & the construction of Taj Mahal believed to have taken 22 Years to complete with over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. AGRA FORT, where you can ramble around the somewhat unkempt high walls and wide moat, up and down staircases and through the palace rooms.  From the fine Musamman Burj (octagonal Tower) there is a wonderful view of the Taj Mahal. Also visit a Marble Factory to see the intricate work of Gems, precious stones in Marble, etc.

Post Tour no. 01 : Kanpur to Khajuraho via Orchha (390 Kms/8-9 hrs drive approx)

 Our representative will meet you in the hotel, check out from the hotel and drive to Khajuraho in the morning. Arrive Khajuraho; check in to your hotel. Overnight will be hotel.

 Your tour guide will meet you in hotel and takes you to the city tour of Khajuraho. Khajuraho: the temple city, which originally has 85 temples, only 22 survives today. Built by the Chandela Rajputs, thousands of years ago from 950 A.D. The temples of 

Khajuraho are divided into three geographical groups: Western, Eastern and Southern. The Western groups of temples are the most popular and best known. Then visit the eastern group. Hindu and Jain temples make up the eastern group, which lies close to Khajuraho village. The largest Jain temple Parswanath is in this group. The three Hindu temples in the eastern group are the Brahma, Vamana and Javari temples. Then visit southern group, only five kilometers from the Khajuraho village. Evening drives to Jhansi to board the train to Delhi to connect your onward journey. (Khajuraho to Jhansi by road 170 kms/3-4 hrs drive approximately).

This monument took 22 years to be completed. Then visit Agra fort: the great Mughal Emperor Akbar constructed this fort in 1565 A.D, although additions were made till the time of his grandson Shah Jahan. (Taj Mahal is closed on Friday’s). Fatehpur Sikri, Agra

 

Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (By road) 230-Kms/5 hrs

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Jaipur enroute Fatehpur sikri: named as ‘The abandoned city’. The great Mughal Emperor Akbar built it as his capital, but after some years due to scarcity of water, it was abandoned. The whole city is built of red sand stone. Also visit Buland Darwazaa. Then drives to Jaipur and check in to your hotel. Overnight will be in hotel.  

 Jaipur to Delhi (By road) 255-Kms/5 to 6 hours

Jaipur is the capital of the state of Rajasthan and also the gateway to Rajasthan, Jaipur is popularly known as Pink city. Early morning leave for a tour to Amer Fort. Enjoy a ride on an elephant up to the entrance of the Fort, continue city sightseeing visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal (palace of winds). Leave Jaipur in the evening to Delhi to connect your onward journey.
