Projects @ IITK
While studying at the IIIT, one gets exposure to a wide range of issues (in computer science and IT) and is encouraged to conceive solutions for them. In the process, these are two major projects I have worked on!!
- Distributed RDBMS: I have worked on creating a distributed relational DBMS, which runs in Java over existing heterogenous DBMS, as a layer on top of them. The system supports fragmentation transparency, fragmented databases, and distributed join queries.
- Multimedia Systems: These systems have started to prove beneficial to a majority of users who are - not surprisingly - computer-illiterate. I have worked on creating an authoring solution to semi-automatically create city information systems.
