IPhO-2000

The Following 7 member team represented the country at IPhO - 2000 held at  Leicester, England, from July 8 - July 16 2000.

IPhO-2000 Theoretical competition was held on July 10, 2000. It consisted of three theoretical problems, each of maximum points 10. IPhO-2000 experimental competition was held on July 12, 2000. It consisted of two experimental problems of 10 points each. (Total points : 50). The competitions were of 5 hours duration each.

A major highlight of our third participation in this event:
The Olympiad (just like the Sports Olympics) is an individual event and there is no official ranking of nations. However, on the basis of aggregate scores India stood third among 64 participating nations. This is the highest rank secured by India in any of  the Olympiads we have been participating for the past several years: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology !!
