Personal

I was born in Chandigarh and spent my childhood there, as well as in New Delhi and Hardwar.

My father, Dr A. K. Banerjee, holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering and retired from BHEL, Hardwar, and my mother, Smt. B. Banerjee is a postgraduate in Modern History. I have the most wonderful parents one can think of. My parents are now settled in Salt Lake, Kolkata.

I have two sisters; my elder sister, Smt. Aditi Mukherjee is a postgraduate in Computer Science and Chemistry, married to Mr. Soumyabrata Mukherjee, and now settled in the USA. My twin sister, Smt. Avanti Mukherjee is a postgraduate in Economics, married to Mr. Sourav Mukherjee, and now settled in Kolkata. I am the proud uncle of two nephews, Soumil and Soumik Mukherjee, and one niece, Sneha Mukherjee.

In 2005, I married Dipanwita Banerjee. Dipanwita has an M.Phil in English Literature and loves writing and traveling. She is an English Language Teaching Staff at the Dean of Academic Affairs, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

We are blessed with two young boys, Arin and Anay. They love playing with LEGO and are fond of cars and traveling.

I love traveling, cooking, photography, listening to music, and watching sports. I represented my school in the junior kho-kho competition. I used to be a good sprinter in my school days.

My favorite travel destination in India is Kerala; it is truly God's own country! And my favorite International destination is Italy. I am a total foodie! I love Thai, Mughlai, and Mediterranean food.
