Active Turbulence

Dense bacterial suspensions display collective motion exhibiting coherent flow structures which are reminiscent of turbulent flows. The emergent power laws in the length scale dependence of the energy spectrum inspired coinage of the word active turbulence. In contrast to inertial turbulence, we have a limited understanding of the microscopic dynamics underlying the collective dynamics of bacterial suspensions. My research area focuses on the experimental studies of 'Active Turbulence'.
