Hello there! My name is Suman Karan. I am a Doctoral student in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, working on experimental quantum optics and entanglement with Prof. Anand Kumar Jha at his Quantum Optics and Entanglement Lab. Before joining here, I did my master of Science in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, followed by the Bachelor of Science in Physics from Midnapore College under Vidyasagar University.
My current research focuses on developing an efficient method for generation, measurement, and applications of high-dimensional orbital angular momentum entangled state utilizing the spatial coherence properties of a two-photon state generated by the Spontaneous parametric down-conversion process. These have significant implications in the field of quantum communications and quantum information. I am also interested in extending the entanglement benefits in quantum metrology and the foundation of physics. Furthermore, I am interested in exploring optical coherence in other degrees of freedom of photon, such as polarization and temporal.
All the academic details about me can be found in my CV attached below. Apart from academics, which are not mentioned in my CV, are the following: I enjoy spending time with my family. I mostly read detective story books. Feluda is my all-time favorite. I love to listen to Arijit Singh, and A. R Rahaman is my favorite music composer.
