Diffusion and ThermoKinetics Group

Research Philosophy

The objective of our research group is to develop an understanding of the composition-process-property relationship in multicomponent systems and utilize these fundamental understanding to develop innovative materials and processes of technological importance. Our research is mainly experimental, also supported by modeling tools. The focus of our experimental studies is on mulicomponent diffusion and phase equilibria. The tools we use are kinetic models and computational thermodynamics. The technologies of interest are lighweight alloys, high temperaure materials and lead-free solders.
