M.I.M.T. Lab

Microwave Imaging and Material Testing Laboratory

The MIMT Lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art facility in the broader areas of microwave imaging, RF sensors, RF characterization and nondestructive testing. The Lab has a network analyzer up to 67 GHz, the dielectric probe kit, the rectangular waveguides in various frequency bands, the metallic cavity and various indigenously designed planar RF sensors for material testing over a wide frequency band. The lab is augmented with a microwave imaging scanner to facilitate automated RF imaging and remote sensing of objects and media using various types of antenna structures.

EMI/EMC and Safety Test Lab

EMI/EMC and Electrical Safety Test Facility

EMI/EMC (Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility) and Electrical Safety Test Facility, situated in the Diamond Jubilee Academic Complex of IIT Kanpur, is a world class testing facility fully accredited by NABL/ILAC. Our advanced EMC facility includes a 3 meter Semi Anechoic Chamber, Control Room, Amplifier Room, and other accessories to facilitate fully automated EMC testing of electrical and electronic devices with prime emphasis on medical devices, in strict compliance with the relevant IEC and CISPR standards. The safety test facility includes a modern electrical safety analyzer and various other instruments for safety testing of medical electrical devices, in compliance with the relevant IEC standards.
