Technology Developed/Transferred

  1. Developed the design for the hardware and proposed a new control scheme for the power electronic interface for a solar photovoltaic power plant. The hardware was fabricated by CDAC Trivandrum and installed at the WBREDA Headquarters in Salt Lake, Kolkata, in February 2010.
  2. The power-stack hardware design and control algorithms for a solar PV-battery storage based micro-grid at an estuarine island in Sunderban delta, India, was given to CDAC Trivandrum, India, for installation and commissioning, which was completed in 2013.
  3. Transferred the technology for a high-bandwidth voltage sensor to M/s Electrohms Ltd., a private sector engineering firm in Bangalore, India. This product is now being packaged for trial at their customers’ premises.
  4. Designed- and developed through an Indian vendor- a 415 V/415 V, DC-AC/AC-AC 55 kW Back-to-Back Universal Renewable Energy Interface converter, with 3-track MPPT feature, capable of full power output at 55oC and 100% overload rating. Measured efficiency 96%+. Efficient and reliable communication based parallel algorithm developed for modular expansion of power rating.
