Software
The
LASUtility software is having a rich GUI user interface so that a user
can use this software with ease. Being operating system
independent software is an additional feature of LASUtility.
Various functions for processing
LiDAR data using this software are shown below with corresponding screen shots:
1.
View
(a)
Graphical view:
This option displays the
point data of LAS and text files.
(b)
Text view:
This option displays the
contents of the LAS file in interactive manner. Point data are displayed based on the
given range of point data records.
2.
Trim
(a) Graphics based:
This option displays the
point data of LAS and text files. One can mark the area of interest by mouse and
can save that area by choosing Trim Selected Area button.
(b)
Text based:
This option displays the
contents of the LAS file in interactive manner. Point data are displayed based on the
given range of point data records. The displayed file can be trimmed based on
the selected range of point records.
3.
Stitch
This option stitches different LAS files of same format into one large LAS file.
4.
Converter
(a) LAS to LAS :
This converts LAS files from one format to other i.e. LAS 1.0 to LAS 1.1
and vice-versa. Radio buttons are given to select the input and output file
formats.
(b)
LAS to XYZI:
This converts LAS file into text file containing XYZ and Intensity
data.
(c)
LAS to XYZ:
This converts LAS file into text file containing XYZ data.
(d)
XYZI to LAS:
This converts text file having XYZ, Intensity and Return Number into LAS
file. The text file must have XYZ data arranged in columnar format. Intensity and Return Numbers are
optional.
(e)
LAS to Text:
This converts whole contents of a LAS file into the text file.

Provides help for software.

Provides information regarding the
terms and conditions for using the software.

Contains
the information about the persons involved in the development of the software.
