Currently, my research activities are in the areas of transport phenomena, reaction engineering, and micro/nano fabrication leading to the technology development of organic gas sensors. These sensors have applications in healthcare, environmental monitoring, industrial safety, and security.
Under investigation are 2D material-based gas sensors for room temperature detection of various gases and VOCs. The objective is to detect gases in the sub-ppm or ppb region at room temperature, as detection of these gases in the ppb range can serve as detection biomarkers in human exhaled breath for a variety of diseases, thereby paving the way for non-invasive disease detection. In addition, these gas sensors have numerous applications for monitoring food quality.
