PORTABLE PULSAR RECEIVER
Portable pulsar receiver is being designed as a generic receiver to
acquire data from any radio telescope. The present receiver is planned
to digitise upto 4-Mhz bandwidth signal using a two-bit four-level sampler and
format the data to transfer into a PC, where all the signal processing
is done. The time stamping is done from a GPS receiver and the whole system
works on rubidium reference source. Emphasis is given on the compactness
of the whole unit, which includes the rf section, sampler, formatter, GPS
receiver (only at MRT), rubidium source and the power supply.
