Major Numerical Codes Developed Under My Supervision
(each leading to at least a PhD thesis, or to several publications; each is a different code, not a modification of another)
A Fourier spectral code to do direct numerical simulations of fluid and magneto hydrodynamic turbulence
A Spectral Element code to solve the vorticity-stream-function equations (2D) for natural and mixed convection
A Spectral Element code to solve the vorticity-stream-function equations (2D) for double diffusive convection in a porous medium
A Navier-Stokes code to solve (2-D) free-surface flow problems
A novel over-lapping finite volume code for 2-D flows and solute convection
A novel 3-D finite volume code for complex geometry flow, heat transfer, and reacting scalars. A variant solves non-Newtonian power-law liquid flows
A general-purpose 3-D finite volume code, integrated with commercial grid-generators and post-processors, which can solve incompressible, variable density and buoyancy-driven flows, free, mixed and forced convection, conjugate heat transfer, melting-solidification problems, particle-gas and liquid-vapour two-phase flows, turbulent flow and heat transfer (with 6 different eddy-viscosity models), turbulent combustion with the eddy-dissipation model and magneto-hydrodynamic flows (this code is still under development, with around 50 person-years already invested in it)
