The major philosophy of our research is to find the operative micro-mechanisms in crystalline material subjected to mechanical stimuli at different length scales. We employ state of the art characterization tools like X-ray diffraction, Electron Back Scatter Diffraction, neutron and synchrotron diffraction to decipher the evolution of crystallographic texture, microstructure, micro-texture and residual stress during mechanical testing and processing. These experimental observations are complimented with robust crystal plasticity simulations to understand the operative micro-mechanisms of deformation. A kaleidoscopic view of our research activities is given below.
