The mm-Wave research group at IIT Kanpur is presently involved in the interdisciplinary research specifically, mmWave Antennas, Metamaterial/Metasurface, Arrays and Multifunctional Devices. These include Reconfigurable Metamaterial/Metasurface Antenna, Phased Arrays, Multifunctional MIMO-Cognitive-Radio Antenna, reconfigurable antennas, Dielectric Resonator Antennas, Frequency selective surface (FSS), polarization converter, Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS), and mmWave Circuits.


Current Postdoctoral Fellows


Dr. Mohit Mishra

Dr. Mohit Mishra was born in the year 1992 in Etawah, UP, India. He received B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Central University of Chhattisgarh, in 2014. He obtained his Ph.D. from IIT Guwahati. After his Ph.D, he joined the mm-wave research group of at IIT Kanpur as Postdoctoral Fellow (under SERB-NPDF). He is recipient of the URSI Young Scientist Award, 2024. His research interests include Printed MIMO Antennas and Dielectric Resonator Antennas for MIMO applications. Currently, he is working on mm-wave antennas. He has authored or co-authored 16 research publications.



Dr. Anubhav Kumar

Dr. Anubhav Kumar received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees from Dr A.P.J. AKTU, State Government University, Lucknow, India, in Electronics and Communication Engineering and obtained his Ph.D. in the domain of MIMO Antennas for Wireless Applications in 2023. He joined the mm-wave research group of at IIT Kanpur as Postdoctoral Fellow (under SERB-NPDF). He has received many best paper awards in different International/national conferences. He has been recognized for a highly esteemed contribution to Research Publication/Patent by Raj Kumar Goel Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad. He has published more than 50 research papers in different journals and conferences. His research interests include microstrip antenna, metamaterial, FSS, MIMO, and wearable antenna.

Mr. Sainbor Mukhim

Sainbor Mukhim was born in Shillong, India, 2002 and completed his B.Tech in in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Meghalaya in 2024. He joined as a PhD student at IIT Kanpur in August 2024. His key research interest are in Metamaterial antenna, Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces, Metasurface and MIMO antenna system for communication systems.




Mr. Ahmed Abdalla Ibrahim Mohamed

(International Student)

Ahmed Abdalla Ibrahim Mohamed was born in Khartoum, Sudan, in 1994. He completed his B.Eng in Electronics Engineering with specialization in Communication Engineering from Sudan University of Science and Technology in December 2017 and M.Tech in RF and Microwave Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India, in June 2024. He enrolled as a PhD scholar at IIT Kanpur in July 2024. His main research interests are focused on mm Wave antenna design, frequency-selective surfaces (FSS), and metamaterials.



Ms. Richa

Richa was born in Lucknow, in India. She received B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, U.P.,India in 2015 and an M.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Rajasthan, India in 2021. She enrolled as a PhD scholar at IIT Kanpur in 2023. Her current research interests involve Metamaterials, Artificial Magnetic Conductors, MIMO antennas, Filters, Active antenna and its applications.



Ms. Shreya Pourush

Shreya Pourush was born in Agra, India, 1998. She completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida in 2020 and M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur in 2023. She enrolled as a PhD scholar at IIT Kanpur in 2023 and is currently pursuing it under the supervision of Prof. Raghvendra Kumar Chaudhary. She got selected for the prestigious PhD fellowship under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme Phase-II in the year 2023. Her main research interests are focused on Metamaterial, MIMO, and Phased array antennas for mmWave and Satcom applications.



Ms. Ruby Sharma

Ruby Sharma was born in Delhi, 1994. She completed B. tech in electronics and communication engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi in 2017 and M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with Specialization in RF and Microwave from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi in 2020. Her main research interest is focused on antenna designing. She has enrolled PhD program at EE, IIT Kanpur in 2022.



Ms. Archana Kumari

Archana Kumari has received B.Tech. degree in ECE from R.V.S.C.E.T Jamshedpur (Ranchi University), India in 2010 and M.Tech. degree from NIT Patna, Bihar, India in 2020. In December 2021, She was honored with the Young Scientist Award in 5th URSI Regional Conference on Radio Science (AP-RASC), Indore. She has joined as a PhD student in the Visveswaraya PhD scheme at IIT Kanpur in 2022. Her research interest includes Frequency Selective Surface FSS Absorbers, Polarization Converters, Circularly Polarized Antennas, and mm wave based FSS structures.



Ms. Sanjana Paul

Sanjana Paul was born in Shimoga, India, 1995. She completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Angamaly in 2017 and M.Tech in electronics and communication engineering with specialization in communication systems design from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram in 2020. She started her Ph.D. in 2020. Her main research interests are focused on MIMO antennas for mmWave mobile and terminal applications.



Ms. Alka Dileep

Alka Dileep was born in Kerala, India. She received the B. Tech degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Kerala, India in 2014 and M. Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Pondicherry University (Central University), India in 2016. She has worked as Project Assistant at National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL), Bangalore where she was involved in a research-oriented work carried out in the field of Radar Absorbers for Aerospace applications. She has joined as a PhD student at IIT Kanpur in 2020. Her current research interest includes Frequency selective absorptive/transmissive surfaces and High selectivity Rasorbers.



Ms. Sanghmitra

Sanghmitra completed B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from SGSITS Indore, M.P, India in 2016 and M.Tech in RF & Microwave engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Jabalpur, India in 2021. Her main research interests are focused on circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna at mmWave communications. She has enrolled PhD program at IIT Dhanbad in 2021.

Tripta Kumari was born in Auranagabad, Bihar, India, 1993. She completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, Guna in 2015 and M.Tech in Electronics engineering with specialization in RF & Microwave Engineering from IIT Dhanbad in 2018. Aks Raj was born in Bakhatpur, Begusarai, Bihar, India, 1991. He completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Siliguri Institute of technology in 2013 and M.Tech in electronics and communication engineering with specialization in Microwave Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra in 2015. His main research interests are focused on frequency selective surfaces, polarization converter at mmWave and Metasurface for antenna applications. Mr. Amit Kr. Pandey

Amit Kr. Pandey completed B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India in 2014 and M.Tech (Gold Medalist) in electronics and communication engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Nagaland, India in 2019. His main research interests are focused on SIW-based Antennas at mmWave frequencies, SIW Multiplexers, MIMO Antennas, and reconfigurable antennas utilizing SIW technology. He has enrolled PhD program at IIT Dhanbad in 2019.

Poonam Kumari was born in Patna, Bihar, India, 1992.
