The Hi-Temp laboratory at IIT Kanpur houses the following research facilities, focusing on, but not limited to, high-temperature experimentation.


Vertical Tubular Furnace with Micro Balance (Bottom weighing)

    Maximum Temperature: 1200°C (continuous working temperature 1150°C)

    Environment: Any (Reducing/Oxidizing/Inert)

    Maximum Sample: 200 grams

    Current Applications: Reduction of oxides, Oxidation of refractories.













High-temperature thermogravimetric analyser (TGA)

Apart from the high-temperature facilities mentioned above, computational facilities (FACTSAGE, ANSY-FLUENT) for research purposes are available as part of the centralized facilities of the department/institute.
