Teaching

LiDAR is being taught to M.Tech. (Geoinformatics) students in their second semester.  The course covers theoretical aspects of technology and laboratory exercises using data of different sensors and terrain.  We use in-house and commercial (Terrascan) software for this purpose.

Research

We are actively involved in the following areas:

1. Simulator development for airborne LiDAR

2. Understanding return waveform generation for a laser pulse

3. Information extraction from LiDAR data

4. Immersive visualization of terrain using LiDAR data
