Virtual Full-Duplex Relaying in Cellular Systems

We are building a relay system that will achieve the performance of full-duplex relaying using half-duplex relays. This system is based on a novel relaying protocol proposed by us recently. We plan to build a virtual full-duplex testbed using commercial off-the-shelf software defined radios. Please see my publications for the details of this protocol.

4G Radio Access Network Testbed

A testbed consisting of four base stations and twelve users was built at IIT Madras to experimentally investigate the novel wireless communication algorithms in realistic fading and interference settings. As a part of this project, I designed, built and tested the testbed hardware from scratch, and also developed LTE PHY layer algorithms to exercise the testbed.

Design of WiMAX Base Station and User Equipment.

The objective was to build a WiMAX system using an off-the-shelf WCDMA radio. For this project, I built a common hardware platform for both base station and user equipment and also developed WiMAX physical layer algorithms.
