Experimental Methods in Structural Engineering
A new post-graduate laboratory
course Experimental Methods in Structural Engineering (CE 623) is
developed which is currently being offered as core course. The objective
of the course is to introduce students experimental techniques generally
utilized in investigating static and dynamic behaviour of structural
systems and components. The emphasis of the course is on the use of
computer-controlled load application, instrumentation and sensors, data
acquisition and interpretation systems for comparison of experimental
and theoretically predicted behavior. The course is complemented with
several "hands-on" experiments in the laboratory. It is expected that an
experience in verifying analytical work will develop a keen insight into
the theories and a careful attitude in developing new theories. |
