A number of new equipment
and instruments have been added to enhance the laboratory capabilities,
mostly from research grants. They include: (a) 5 no. servo-hydraulic
actuators with capacities ranging from 50 to 1000 kN, (b) 6-station
servo-hydraulic controller, (c) 3-tonne fork-lift truck to handle large and
heavy test specimen and loading equipment, (d) MIG/TIG welding machines for
fabrication of steel and aluminum test specimens, (e) Plasma-cutting of
metals, (f) Concrete core-cutting and anchoring devices, (g) 128-channel
high performance data acquisition system and its upgradation to 160 channels
recently with a new controller, (h) 32-channel simultaneous polling high
speed data acquisition system for shake table tests, (i) A rotary drilling
machine for arbitrarily oriented drilling in large specimen (j) Compressor
for pneumatic tools, (k) Hydraulic powered torque wrench for anchor bolts
(l) Underslung crane for existing lab floor, etc. |
